Chesterton
Card-C-30-20 [probably 1944]
I look at my human self
1. Mystery & difficulties of nearer views
2. disapper when I come to the human region. CS’s own
3. Yet, a few times in a lifetime, one is aghast, staggered at this commonplace ‘human’ self. Familiarity. Look at those eyes, hands. What is it all about? One can come away from one’s mirror trembling.
