Card-C-28-03 Date: 12.44. Carr. A World of Picture Heads
Card-C-28-04. Empathy. DH: To see the world as a world of P-Hs [picture-heads] is the way God sees it. Only thus is the physical finally overcome. You are, in this world of P-Hs all P-H appreciation of you and all your appreciation as P-H. Thus only are you all-there, real.
Growth of sympathy and love, and also growing realisation of what all forms of life and all creatures must be for themselves, is a part of this conquest of externality. So that things are reversed. Instead of seeing in me my face and figure and behaviour, you come to see what I see, to feel with me, to see through me others’ faces.
Index-Card-C-28-05 DEH Our common system of reference for some purposes is Society, for others Earth, for others Sun, &, superconsciously for all that remains over, God. With even the most alien picture-head, we share this System of Reference & so can communicate.
The more alien two minds are the higher their common ground must be pitched. The differences & evils of the world are the guarantee of higher reality. A good world here & now would need no higher. The fact that there are many minds with whom I cannot communicate, yet somehow do, means common ground somewhere. Or rather it means unity somewhere. It means a common aura-ring in virtue of which our selves at the centre become one or, rather, realise their existent identity. [aura-ring is a layer or zone or region]
Index-Card-C-28-12 DEH: …any real monad’s existence (not only its essence) is both past, present & future it embraces. C [Carr] puts here with extreme clarity my contention but fails to see the real point.
