Specious present.
Index-Card-C-24-03 DEH: Do you not, when looking at a patch of colour, constantly ‘revivify’ the sensation by comparison of the patch with its surroundings by a a darting of attention to & fro? Thus you can’t contemplate the pure sensation-in-itself but change, its active relations to other sensations. Check this impression.

Index-Card-C-24-07 DEH You are not conscious of your cell or organ processes (not anyway) because they are not in your Specious Present. In other words, they are Past. And you aren’t conscious of your earth processes because they are future & therefore not in your Specious Present…. The very words “present in consciousness” indicates that what isn’t ‘present’ is past or future.
